Zoom Blur
A radial streaking effect created by zooming a lens during exposure, which makes the scene seem to rush at the viewer. Filters in editing apps made it a popular energetic effect in the 2010s.

Spot it
- 01Radial speed streaks
- 02Sharp central focus
- 03Tunnel-like motion
Why it happens
Changing focal length during the exposure scales the image around its center, so each point smears along a line pointing outward from the middle.

Image edit prompt“Apply a strong zoom blur to this image: sharp detail kept at the center of the subject while everything toward the edges streaks outward in smooth radial lines, with a slight glow on bright areas and saturated colors. Convey rushing, tunnel-like speed toward the viewer. Keep the original subject and composition.”
