DeepDream
A 2015 experiment by Alexander Mordvintsev that amplified patterns a neural network detected in a photo, filling skies and landscapes with eyes, dogs and swirling ornament. It became an internet phenomenon and early psychedelic AI art.

Spot it
- 01Swirling eyes and animals
- 02Fractal repeating textures
- 03Psychedelic saturated color
Why it happens
A trained image-recognition network is run in reverse, adjusting the picture to strengthen whatever features it already sees, which compounds into hallucinated, repeating shapes.

Image edit prompt“Transform this image into a DeepDream hallucination: every surface sprouts dense fractal layers of tiny eyes, dog faces, feathers and spiral ornaments, repeating in nested patterns, with oversaturated psychedelic colors and soft glowing edges. Keep the underlying forms legible beneath the patterns. Keep the original subject and composition.”
