Neural Style Transfer
A technique that repaints a photo in the brushwork and palette of another artwork. Leon Gatys, Alexander Ecker and Matthias Bethge introduced it in 2015, and it sparked a wave of art-filter apps.

Why it happens
A neural network separates a picture's content features from its style statistics, and the output is optimized to match the content of one image and the style of another.

Image edit prompt“Repaint this image in the style of a swirling post-impressionist oil painting: thick expressive brushstrokes that follow the contours, vivid cobalt blue and chrome yellow palette, visible impasto texture and rhythmic curling patterns in the sky and background. Do not copy any specific artwork. Keep the original subject and composition.”
