Affine Texture Warping
The wobbly, swimming textures of early 3D consoles, notably the original PlayStation (1994). Lacking perspective-correct mapping, textures bend across large polygons and vertices jitter on pixel-snapped coordinates.

- 02Jittering polygon edges
- 03Low-poly faceted shapes
Why it happens
Interpolating texture coordinates linearly in screen space ignores depth, so texture lines distort on polygons viewed at an angle and shift as the camera moves.

Image edit prompt“Render this image as a 1990s PlayStation-era 3D scene: low-polygon faceted shapes with blurry low-resolution textures that visibly warp and swim across large triangles, straight lines bending diagonally, jagged polygon edges, vertex-snapped wobble and flat Gouraud shading. Keep the original subject and composition.”
