Bullet Time
A visual effect that freezes or slows a moment while the camera sweeps around it. Built on earlier multi-camera work, it was made famous by The Matrix (1999), which used an array of still cameras and interpolation.

Spot it
- 01Frozen moment, orbiting camera
- 02Airborne bodies in suspension
- 03Smooth impossible camera arc
Why it happens
Many cameras on a curved track fire in sequence around a subject, and the stills are played back as film, creating motion through space while time barely moves.

Image-to-video prompt“Animate this image as bullet time: action freezes mid-motion while the camera arcs smoothly 180 degrees around the subject, with hair, fabric, dust and debris suspended in the air, ultra-slow speed ramps at the extremes and a cool green-tinted sci-fi grade. Smooth orbit over five seconds. Keep the original subject and composition.”
