Light Leaks
Accidental colored glows that appear when stray light reaches film through a camera body or loading gaps. Common on cheap plastic cameras, they became a beloved nostalgic effect in 1990s snapshots and lo-fi photography.

Spot it
- 01Orange-red edge flares
- 02Washed, hazy highlights
- 03Streaky magenta glows
Why it happens
Light entering through worn seals or an open back exposes the film directly, so the emulsion records a fogged, warm-colored wash that ignores the lens image.

Image edit prompt“Add analog light leaks to this image: warm orange, red and magenta flares bleeding in from the left edge and corners, soft hazy fogging over highlights, faded blacks, subtle streaks of yellow light and slightly lifted contrast, like a leaky plastic film camera. Keep the original subject and composition.”
