Redscale Film
A film hack where color negative is loaded backwards so light passes through the base first, tinting pictures in red, orange and yellow. Lomography-minded shooters embraced it in the 2000s for its unpredictable warm palette.

Spot it
- 01Saturated red-orange wash
- 02Golden-yellow highlights
- 03Grainy soft contrast
Why it happens
Light travels through the film's red-sensitive layer first and the orange base, so the blue and green layers get little exposure and red dominates the result.

Image edit prompt“Make this image look like redscale film: the whole frame washed in saturated red and orange, golden-yellow highlights, nearly absent blues and greens, deep burgundy shadows, visible film grain, soft edges, slight vignetting and a hint of light leak. Keep the palette strictly warm. Keep the original subject and composition.”
