Panning Shot
A photographic technique of following a moving subject with the camera during a slow shutter so the subject stays sharp while the background streaks. It is a long-standing motorsport and street photography staple.

Spot it
- 01Sharp moving subject
- 02Streaked horizontal background
- 03Strong sense of speed
Why it happens
The camera moves at the subject's speed during a slow exposure, freezing it relative to the frame while everything else is dragged across the sensor as streaks.

Image edit prompt“Recreate this image as a classic panning shot: the main subject crisp and detailed in the frame while the background and foreground are dragged into smooth horizontal motion streaks of color, with a slight ghosting blur at the subject's trailing edges. Convey speed from left to right. Keep the original subject and composition.”
