Instance Segmentation
A task that separates every individual object, not just object categories, with its own pixel mask. Mask R-CNN, presented by Kaiming He and colleagues in 2017, popularized it for counting and tracking.

Why it happens
Detects each object with a bounding box, then predicts a binary mask inside that box, so two objects of the same class receive different masks.
