Hough Circle Transform
An extension of the Hough voting idea to circles, used to find round objects such as coins, wheels, eyes and pupils. It tolerates partial occlusion and broken edges that would defeat simple shape matching.

Spot it
- 01Neon rings on objects
- 02Small center crosshair dots
- 03Dimmed backdrop
Why it happens
Every edge pixel votes for possible circle centers at a range of radii; peaks in the accumulated votes give the center and radius of each detected circle.

Image edit prompt“Show Hough circle detection on this image: dim the original photo slightly, then draw thin bright green rings around every round object, such as wheels, eyes, buttons and lamps, each with a small red dot at its center. Ring thickness is uniform and no non-circular shapes are marked. Keep the original subject and composition recognizable.”
