Gabor Filter Bank
A set of oriented, frequency-tuned filters built on Dennis Gabor's 1946 signal theory. They resemble responses of visual-cortex cells and are used for texture analysis, fingerprint enhancement and feature extraction.

Spot it
- 01Striped oriented ripples
- 02Color-coded direction channels
- 03Texture-selective bright zones
Why it happens
Convolves the image with sinusoidal waves windowed by a Gaussian at several orientations and frequencies, so each filter responds to texture of a particular direction and spacing.

Image edit prompt“Render this image as a Gabor filter bank response: a grid or blend of grayscale panels where fine oriented ripple patterns light up exactly where texture matches each angle, such as 0, 45, 90 and 135 degrees. Bright wavy stripes on dark ground, tinted by orientation. Keep the original subject and composition recognizable.”
