Vortograph
A Vorticist abstract photography technique created by Alvin Langdon Coburn in 1917. He used a kaleidoscope-like arrangement of mirrors to fragment objects into angular shards.

Spot it
- 01Fractured triangular shards
- 02Mirror-repeated angular facets
- 03Dark abstract monochrome
Why it happens
Three mirrors fixed in a triangle in front of the lens reflect the subject several times, so the camera records overlapping faceted copies as one abstract picture.

Image edit prompt“Transform this image into a Vorticist vortograph: kaleidoscopic mirror fractures, sharp triangular facets, repeated angular shards radiating from the center, high-contrast black and white, glowing edges, dark background and soft silver grain. Make it abstract but still readable. Keep the original subject and composition.”
