Stop-Motion Animation
Animation made by posing real objects or puppets and photographing them one frame at a time. Władysław Starewicz made elaborate insect puppet films around 1912, and later filmmakers developed it into feature-length effects.

Spot it
- 01Slightly jittery tactile movement
- 02Visible handmade materials
- 03Subtle frame-to-frame variation
Why it happens
A model is moved a tiny amount between exposures, so playback at film speed turns still poses into continuous apparent motion.

Image-to-video prompt“Animate this image as handmade stop-motion at about 12 frames per second: the subjects move in small, slightly jerky steps, visible clay, felt and wire textures, fingerprint-like surface variation, flickering studio light, tiny frame-to-frame changes in shadows. Static camera. Keep the original subject and composition.”
