Stipple Pointillism
Tone is built from thousands of tiny dots, denser in dark regions. Hand stippling is an old engraving technique; computer versions, such as weighted Voronoi stippling (Secord, 2002), give even, hand-drawn-looking results.

Spot it
- 01Thousands of tiny dots
- 02Dense clusters in shadow
- 03Even spacing, no overlap
Why it happens
Dots are placed at random and relaxed so their spacing is even, with the point density at each location proportional to the image's darkness there.

Keep the original subject and composition.”
