ANSI 16-Color Terminal
Imagery limited to the sixteen colors of early PC text modes, drawn with block characters. It defined the look of 1980s and 1990s bulletin-board art and still reads as instant retro-computing.

- 02Chunky block characters
- 03Dithered shade glyphs
Why it happens
Each character cell is mapped to the nearest of sixteen fixed colors, often using half blocks and shaded glyphs to mix two colors into extra tones.
