Point Cloud Proxy
A stand-in for 3D scan data in which an image is rebuilt as thousands of small colored points arranged by estimated depth. It gives a scanned, holographic look used in mapping and sci-fi visuals.

Spot it
- 01Thousands of tiny dots
- 02Layered depth parallax
- 03Black void between points
Why it happens
Estimates depth for each pixel, lifts selected pixels into 3D positions with their color, and renders them as isolated points with gaps between.

Image edit prompt“Render this image as a point cloud: a black background where the subject is rebuilt from many thousands of tiny colored dots that keep the original pixel colors, thicker where surfaces face the camera and sparser at the edges, with slight depth layering. No continuous surfaces or lines. Keep the original subject and composition recognizable.”
