Pixel Art
Digital art built by placing individual pixels by hand under tight limits on resolution and palette. It grew from 1980s arcade machines, home computers and 8-bit consoles, where every pixel and color had to be chosen carefully.

Spot it
- 01Visible square pixels
- 02Limited color palette
- 03Hand-placed clean outlines
Why it happens
A small fixed grid and a handful of palette colors force the artist to define shapes by deliberate pixel placement, with no anti-aliasing or smooth blending.

Image edit prompt“Redraw this image as 8-bit pixel art on a low-resolution grid: large visible square pixels, a limited palette of sixteen colors, clean one-pixel dark outlines, flat shading with simple dithered gradients, no anti-aliasing and no smooth blending. Keep the original subject and composition.”
