Image Morphing
A seamless transformation of one image into another by warping shapes while cross-dissolving color. Industrial Light & Magic pioneered it for Willow (1988), and it became a pop-culture sensation in Terminator 2 and Michael Jackson’s Black or White video in 1991.

Spot it
- 01Fluid warping contours
- 02Cross-dissolved colors mid-change
- 03Matching features sliding together
Why it happens
Corresponding control points or lines are marked on both images, and the software warps each toward the other’s geometry while fading between them frame by frame.

Image-to-video prompt“Animate this image as a classic early-1990s morph: over four seconds the main subject smoothly warps and melts into a completely different shape, with glossy cross-dissolved colors, fluid stretching contours and features sliding into new positions. Keep the camera locked off on a static background, ending on a clean held frame of the new form.”
