Harris Corner Detection
A corner detector introduced by Chris Harris and Mike Stephens in 1988. It finds points where brightness changes in every direction, which makes them stable landmarks for tracking, stitching and matching images.

Spot it
- 01Small red corner dots
- 02Clusters on sharp corners
- 03Dimmed original photo
Why it happens
Builds a matrix of local gradient products in a window, then scores each pixel by how strongly both of its eigenvalues are large; high scores mark corners.

Image edit prompt“Show Harris corner detection on this image: keep the original photo slightly dimmed and mark every detected corner with a small bright red filled circle with a thin white outline. Dots cluster on window corners, eyes, text and sharp object vertices, and are absent on smooth areas and straight edges. Keep the original subject and composition recognizable.”
