Color-Blindness Simulation
A transform that shows how an image appears to people with red-green or blue-yellow color vision deficiency. Models by Brettel, Viénot and Mollon in 1997 and others guide accessible design and chart palettes.

Spot it
- 01Muddy red-green merge
- 02Preserved blues and yellows
- 03Reduced color separation
Why it happens
Converts colors into the cone-response space, replaces the signal of the missing cone type with a projection from the remaining two, and converts back to RGB.

Image edit prompt“Simulate deuteranopia, red-green color blindness, on this image: reds and greens collapse into similar muddy yellow-brown and olive tones, oranges and bright greens become hard to tell apart, while blues and yellows stay clear. Keep brightness and detail unchanged. Keep the original subject and composition recognizable.”
