Cyanotype Simulation
A digital imitation of the blue iron-salt print process invented by John Herschel in 1842. Brightness values are remapped into a Prussian-blue-to-white range for the look of a sun-printed blueprint.

Spot it
- 01Prussian-blue shadows
- 02Pale paper-white highlights
- 03Cool monochrome tonality
Why it happens
Converts the image to luminance and maps it through a color ramp from deep Prussian blue at black to near-white blue at white, with slightly lifted shadows.

Image edit prompt“Simulate a cyanotype of this image: map all tones to a single blue range, deep Prussian-blue shadows, cool mid-blue midtones and pale blue-white highlights, with a faint paper grain and slightly uneven exposure. Use only shades of blue and white, no other hues. Keep the original subject and composition recognizable.”
