Paik–Abe Video Synthesizer
An early analog machine that mixed and colorized video signals. Nam June Paik and engineer Shuya Abe built the first version around 1969, enabling electronic pictures of melting color and layered imagery.

- 02Electronic wave distortion
- 03Glowing scanline texture
Why it happens
The synthesizer blends multiple camera and oscillator signals and shifts their colors and timing before display, so images overlay, warp and glow in real time.

Image edit prompt“Restyle this image as output from an analog video synthesizer: subject colored in neon magenta, cyan and yellow gradients, layered translucent echoes, wavy electronic distortion, visible scanlines, slight signal noise and glowing edges on a dark CRT. Keep the original subject and composition recognizable.”
