Fisheye Lens
An ultra-wide lens that bends straight lines into a bulging sphere of up to 180 degrees. Introduced in photography decades earlier, fisheyes became popular in 1960s and 1970s album covers, skateboarding and music films.

Spot it
- 01Bulging barrel curvature
- 02Curved horizon lines
- 03Dark circular frame edges
Why it happens
The lens maps a hemispherical field of view onto a flat sensor without correcting for distortion, so magnification falls off toward the edges and straight lines curve outward.

Image edit prompt“Re-shoot this image through an ultra-wide fisheye lens: strong spherical barrel distortion, the center bulging toward the viewer, straight lines curving at the edges, slightly exaggerated foreground, a faint circular vignette and subtle chromatic fringing. Natural 1970s color film tone. Keep the original subject and composition.”
