Dissolve
A film transition where one shot fades out as the next fades in, overlapping the two. Early film pioneers used it to show time passing or to turn one scene into another.

Spot it
- 01Two images overlapped
- 02Gradual cross-fade
- 03Ghostly translucent middle frames
Why it happens
Two exposures are blended on the same film strip, so one image's density falls while the other's rises, producing a gradual double exposure at the midpoint.

Image-to-video prompt“Animate this image with a slow classic film dissolve: over four seconds the scene gently cross-fades into a softly different moment of the same place, with both views translucently overlapped at the midpoint like a double exposure. Fine film grain, soft contrast, a faint flicker. Keep the original subject and composition at the start.”
