Cymatics
The study of visible patterns formed in sand, powder or liquid by sound vibrations. Swiss researcher Hans Jenny coined the term in the 1960s, building on much earlier Chladni plate experiments.

Spot it
- 01Symmetrical nodal lines
- 02Fine granular sand ridges
- 03Concentric mandala geometry
Why it happens
A vibrating plate or membrane creates standing waves with still nodal lines, so particles bounce away from moving areas and collect along the stationary lines.

Keep the original subject and composition recognizable.”
