Aliasing Jaggies
Without smoothing, diagonal and curved edges turn into stair-steps because pixels are either on or off. It is the signature of early 3D games and low-resolution rendering.

Spot it
- 01Stair-stepped diagonal edges
- 02Crawling hard outlines
- 03Moire on fine patterns
Why it happens
A scene is sampled once per pixel with no filtering, so detail above the sampling rate folds into false stair-step patterns instead of being averaged into smooth edges.

Image edit prompt“Render this image with harsh aliasing: no anti-aliasing at all, every diagonal and curved edge broken into visible stair-step jaggies, hard one-pixel outlines, moire patterns on fine textures, low-resolution early 3D game look. Keep the original subject and composition.”
