Chromatic Aberration
A lens defect where different wavelengths focus at different points, producing color fringes that grow toward the frame edges. Photographers correct it; designers add it for a cheap-lens, cinematic feel.

Spot it
- 01Purple-green edge fringes
- 02Stronger at frame corners
- 03Soft slightly defocused rim
Why it happens
Red and blue channels are scaled radially by slightly different amounts about the image center, so the color misalignment grows with distance from the middle.

Image edit prompt“Add lens chromatic aberration to this image: subtle magenta and green color fringes along high-contrast edges, growing stronger toward the corners and almost absent in the center, slightly soft edges, natural photographic color. Keep the original subject and composition.”
