Slow Motion
Footage that makes motion look slower than life. August Musger patented a high-speed system in 1904, and by the 1920s German films used it to reveal fine detail in athletics, animals and dance.

Spot it
- 01Floating, lingering movement
- 02Clear detail in mid-action
- 03Hair and cloth hanging in air
Why it happens
The camera records more frames per second than the projector shows, so playback at normal speed stretches every movement in time.

Image-to-video prompt“Animate this image in graceful slow motion: hair, cloth, dust and droplets drift and linger in the air, motion unfolds at a fraction of normal speed with smooth fluid inertia, crisp mid-action detail and gentle monochrome film grain with a soft contrast glow. Keep the original subject and composition.”
