Stroboscopic Photography
A photographic method that fires rapid light flashes to capture several phases of a movement in one frame. Harold Edgerton at MIT developed the electronic flash in the 1930s, freezing swings, splashes and bullets.

Spot it
- 01Repeated frozen poses
- 02Dark seamless background
- 03Evenly spaced motion steps
Why it happens
A flash repeats at a fixed interval during a long exposure, each burst freezing the subject at a new position, so the motion is recorded as a series of sharp overlapping images.

Monochrome with a subtle silvery sheen. Keep the original subject and composition.”
