Light Painting
A long-exposure technique in which a moving light source draws glowing lines in the dark while the shutter stays open. Man Ray’s 1935 space writing and Gjon Mili’s stroboscopic work brought it into modern art.

Spot it
- 01Glowing ribbons of light
- 02Pitch-black surroundings
- 03Looping, hand-drawn trails
Why it happens
With the shutter open for seconds, the sensor or film accumulates light only where the lamp passes, so the path of the moving source is recorded as a continuous bright line.

Keep the original subject and composition.”
