Hand Coloring
Photographers and studio artists painted monochrome prints with thin watercolor, oils or dyes, especially from the 1840s through the 1860s. Cheeks, lips, jewelry and clothing received small touches of delicate color.

Image edit prompt“Recolor this image as a hand-colored Victorian photograph: soft watercolor-like tints over a sepia monochrome base, delicate rose in the cheeks, muted blue and green clothing, tiny gold highlights, slightly imprecise brushwork that drifts over edges, and a faded paper tone. Keep the original subject and composition.”
